Chemould CoLab
ART MUMBAI Gateway spent the morning with Anilakumar Govindappa & Jayeeta Chatterjee, Chemould CoLab’s artists in residence, in the space where they have been living and working over the past several weeks. Through the morning, the artists spoke about their practice, process, and how the culture and communities within Mumbai have shaped the work that they have developed during their residency.
Since 2022, Chemould CoLab's annual Summer Residency has brought contemporary artists to Sugra Manzil in Colaba for a 10-12 week programme to develop new work. The residency offers artists time and space to engage with Mumbai's cultural landscape, culminating in a presentation of the work created during their stay.
