Spanning Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh, and extending to India, a new regional art-led narrative is taking shape. From biennales and art fairs to large-scale exhibitions and institutional showcases, cultural nodes across South Asia and the Middle East are no longer just sites of display. They are evolving into dynamic platforms that rethink representation, making, display, and consumption, placing regional histories, identities, and urgencies at the forefront. This conversation with leading curators and directors, will explore how bold curatorial visions are being met with innovative patronage models, ranging from state-led efforts and institutional collaborations to private collectors and philanthropists. Together, these forces catalyze long-term cultural ecosystems. As cultural hubs shift eastwards, institutions are moving beyond a postcolonial lens to spotlight self-governed identities, narratives, and aesthetics through the exhibitions and events they program.
