Gallery Threshold's journey began in 1997 in Visakhapatnam. It moved to Delhi in 2003. In the quarter of a century of its existence, Threshold has established a benchmark in thoughtful and well-researched curated exhibitions showcasing established as well as young artists with sensitivity. The gallery has pursued its mission to identify and enable future artistic talent. Over the years, apart from regular exhibitions and fair participations, we have collaborated with NGMA and other museums to curate exhibitions, published monographs, books and catalogues, held lectures and symposiums, organized workshops and artists retreats. Mapping Memories, for instance, is a living project unique to the programme of the gallery. It facilitates travel experiences for small groups of artists and academics to destinations that are rich melting pots of culture for creative inspiration. Throughout its journey the Gallery has fostered an environment of growth and exchange, supporting a range of artistic practices. The vision of upholding what we consider quality, whether in traditional media, process-oriented or conceptual works, has opened a space for dialogue and criticality. We pride ourselves in providing a supportive platform for blazing new trails by crossing the threshold between the known and the possible.
