This week marks the start of ART MUMBAI 2025, Mumbai’s third year hosting one of the most prestigious and highly anticipated art fairs in the country, and this year, it's bigger and better than ever. The city welcomes galleries from across the country as well as leading international exhibitors, to celebrate the vibrant spirit of  traditional and contemporary art.

For those visiting for the first time, here’s what to expect at ART MUMBAI and visitor tips, to help navigate through the indoor and outdoor exhibitions.

Galleries from All Over the World

ART MUMBAI 2025 is one of the most impressive art fairs in India, in terms of both curation and scale. This year’s fair hosts 82 exhibitors and over 2000 artworks and reflects a cross-section of the South Asian art diaspora, hosting esteemed institutions and newer, more experimental ones, featuring a curation of the best Indian and international galleries. First-timers can take the Mumbai art fair guided tour happening every 2 hours through the different galleries to get a glimpse of all the highlights, before returning to their favourites at leisure. 

And of course, no art enthusiast should miss the Tyeb Mehta centennial retrospective, which pays homage to one of the country’s pioneering modernist masters, who inspired and shaped the landscape of post-colonial art in India. The Tyeb Mehta collection includes a catalogue of his seminal works and a panel that explores the influences that he has had on modern Indian art.

Sculpture Park

At ART MUMBAI 2025, women reclaim space, literally, to tell their stories through sculpture. The fair has expanded its iconic Sculpture Park this year, and female sculptors have been championed to define the landscape of the fair through art and sculpture. The works tell stories of labour, identity, migration, memory and gendered resilience. The Park includes women working with stone, ceramic, steel and 3D printed material to create installations that interact with their surroundings to defy conventions in the sculptural world.

For those visiting ART MUMBAI for the first time, the Sculpture Park is a must-see, so be sure to grab your sunglasses and refill your water at the nearest fill station, to best enjoy your walk through the Park.

Performances

The art displays at the ART MUMBAI don’t restrict themselves to gallery walls and installations; the fair also showcases the diaspora of South Asian craft through live performances that take place over the course of the weekend. Be sure to catch Omaggio’s multi-disciplinary musical performance on Saturday, where contemporary acrobatics meets traditional dance, and the Symphony of India Music Academy’s recital on Sunday, where classical music can be enjoyed under the canopy of ancient trees in Mumbai’s evening sun.

Food & Beverages

This weekend pairs a menu of the country’s foremost galleries with a curated culinary experience. From contemporary global and Indian fare to drinks and desserts, taste is thoughtfully presented in every aspect of a visitor’s experience.
